[Athletics] Golf, Track Squads Earn All-Academic Team Honors
A trio of Doane Athletics squads received All-Academic Team honors this week by the sport's respective coaches associations. The Tiger men's golf team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) while the men's and women's track & field teams were recognized by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The men's track and field team was named the USTFCCCA Outdoor NAIA National Scholar Team of the Year, posting a 3.27 team grade point average and won a share of the NAIA Outdoor National Championship. A total of 49 men's teams were recognized on the NAIA All-Academic Team list.
The men also placed 13 student-athletes on the All-Academic Athletes list. To be named to the list, a student-athlete must hold a 3.25 or better cumulative grade point average and hit the NAIA automatic or provisional national qualifying standard this year.
Named to the list this year were Kalen Dockweiler, Richard Dover, Logan Hammond, Jake Heitkamp, John Krejci, Luke Partridge, Carter Reckling, Daniel Reimer, Tanner Sand, Zach Turner, Chris Vincent, Aidan Wheelock, and Alec Wick.
The women's track and field team was one of 61 teams recognized on the All-Academic Team list. The Tigers had a 3.3 grade point average as a team with 11 student-athletes making the All-Academic Athlete list.

Doane has made the list each of the past five years. The GCAA All-American Scholars, awarded to individuals, is expected to be named later this summer.
