Gorham wins Junior Scratch Cup at Baltray

Mark Gorham won the Co Louth Golf Club Junior Scratch Cup at Baltray last week.

He shot a two over par 74 to win by one shot from James Behan and Toddy O’Reilly of the host club.

He started his round with four straight pars and a birdie two at the fifth put him one under par. However, he dropped shots at the next two holes before a birdie three at the ninth saw him turn in level par for his round.

He was still level par with three holes to go after a bogey at 11 was cancelled out by a birdie three at the 14^th but he bogeyed the par four 16^th and the par three 17^th.

However, a par at the par-five last was enough to get him over the line and give him his fourth Junior Cup victory after previous successes at Faithlegg, Mount Wolseley and Dundalk.
