Captain’s Corner – April 2021
April is normally a rather unproductive month for the business fraternity due to all the public holidays that occur in that month which normally means it is a very productive month for the club because we can all play some extra golf. Let us hope it is that way this year.
Just a bit of feedback regarding the deck. We have had discussions with the erecting company, and they should be starting the completion work in the beginning of May and it should be completed by the end of May. So please be patient if you see some work in that area as we will be changing the cart path as well.
This month we are having a Captain’s draw for the first time this year and we are looking forward to a good crowd as the draw prize is standing at R35 000. I have also heard a little bird tell me that if the grand prize is not won there will be a consolation prize draw.
April also saw the return of the Monthly Medal for the men. The competition will be held every third Saturday of the month with the overall nett winner being presented with the monthly mug. The first winner of this competition was Francois Venter. The club will also be calculating an eclectic for the year and an overall winner for the year will be in line to win an awesome prize. So, make sure you attend every month.
I wonder how many of you realised that we now have a new sponsor at the club, and they have started with new flags on the course. There will be more of this company displayed on the course in the near future.
The new nursery is progressing strongly on the side of the 15th fairway towards the workshop. This is an area where they have planted new grass for our greens when needed.
For those of you who normally play in the afternoon field this is what it looks like at the club early in the morning on a beautiful day. Quite stunning.
