ALC Golf Ends Season at RSC Men’s Golf Championship

FLORENCE, Ind. — Midway (Ky.) University shot the best round of the tournament in the final round Tuesday to secure the 2021 River States Conference Men’s Golf Championship, the first title in team history. With the victory, the squad now advances to the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship May 18-21 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. with the RSC’s automatic bid. 

Midway (Ky.) University senior Logan Conn took medalist honors.

For the event, Alice Lloyd College (KY) shot a combined score of 1156, to finish in 12th position. Individually, the Eagles were paced by Mason Compton, who shot a three-day score of 280. He finished in a tie for the 27th.

The RSC Men’s Golf First & Second Teams were comprised of five players on each list. Scores from the three rounds this week and the two rounds from the RSC Fall Preview were used to determine the squads. 

Also named was the RSC Men’s Golf Champions of Character Team. Nominated by their head coach, one member of each team was recognized for best displaying the NAIA’s five core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. For ALC, Matthew Henson was selected for this award.
