[Women's Golf] Women's Golf Host Kaitlyn Erickson-Doane Invite
Doane Women's Golf hosted their annual spring golf tournament on Wednesday, the Kaitlyn Erickson-Doane Invitational. The tournament honors former Tiger, Kaitlyn Erickson, who passed away in 2014 to cancer. Temperatures were on the cool side with consistent winds leaving the real feel temperature below 40 degrees, however, the sun was out all day.
The Tigers had 10 golfers in the event, out of the 28 participants. Tressa Bull (JR/Burke, S.D.) led the team with a round of 90, posting the best scoring on Par 3 holes in the tournament at one-over par. She was second in the tournament with seven pars on the day. Bull placed ninth overall.
Payton Zarkowski (SR/Benkelman, Neb.) placed 15th with a round of 97. Anna Korte (JR/Grand Island, Neb.) tied for 16th with a round of 101. Kathryn Finke (FR/Springfield, Mo.) shot a 104 and tied for 18th. Sydney Erickson (FR/Pierce, Neb.) shot a 113 to tie for 25th to wrap up the varsity competitors.
Playing under individual status, Tiffany Carnahan (FR/Fremont, Neb.) shot a 106 to place 20th. Macy Due (SO/Cordova, Neb.) recorded a 110 and took 22nd. Christine Rost (SR/Hamburg, Iowa) and Jordan Nielsen (FR/Lincoln, Neb.) tied for 23rd with a 112. Ivana Lopez (FR/Schuyler, Neb.) placed 27th with a 117.
Korte and Carnahan recorded a birdie each, Doane's only ones on the day. Behind Bull, Zarkowski collected four pars, Finke had three, with Korte and Carnahan picking up one apiece.
