Hogs Head Back To Georgia For Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic

ATHENS, Ga. – No. 14 Arkansas Women’s Golf is headed back to Athens, Ga., for the second time this season, as Head Coach Shauna Taylor’s Hogs are set to take part in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic (March 19-21). Arkansas will play on the University of Georgia Golf Course for the second time this season, as the Razorbacks registered an eighth-place finish at the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic back in early November to close out the fall portion of the season.

The field at this tournament is loaded, as 10 top 25 teams will participate, including all 14 SEC teams. The best of the best from the league will be there, as No. 3 South Carolina, No. 4 LSU and No. 6 Ole Miss will all take part. Arkansas will be paired with Louisville and Vanderbilt on day one, and the group will tee off of hole one at 10:15 CT.

Redshirt junior Brooke Matthews is back in the number one slot for Taylor, and she will lead the Hogs back to Athens. She finished inside the top-15 during the fall edition of the tournament, grabbing a share of 11th place with her three-round 218. Matthews also won this event back in 2019, shooting 68 (-4) to win the one round event.

Ela Anacona is in the second spot for the Hogs for the Liz Murphey. She tied for 38th during her last appearance on the course, firing a 225 (73-79-73) to claim a top 40 finish at the event.

In the third spot for Taylor is Cory Lopez, who registered a 26th place finish during Arkansas’ last trip to Athens, shooting seven-over through three rounds (223). Lopez also finished in the top-35 in the Hogs’ last event, shooting a six-over at the Gamecock Intercollegiate.

Sophomore Kajal Mistry will play from the fourth slot in Arkansas’ return to Georgia. After not playing in the Moon Golf Invitational, Mistry led the Hogs at the Gamecock Intercollegiate, finishing the event at five-over (221). That score was good enough for a share of 29th place.

Holding down the final spot in the traveling party is fellow sophomore Julia Gregg, who matched Lopez’s 34th place finish at the Gamecock Intercollegiate. Gregg didn’t travel with the Hogs to the Fall Collegiate Classic in Athens, so this will be her first time playing the course.
