Golf tips and betting offers – Three picks for the Arnold Palmer Invitational: Claim risk free £20 bet with Paddy Power

0 14

TYRRELL HATTON is looking to defend this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but faces some big names with 12 of the world’s top 25 heading for Bay Hill.

The Englishman is fourth favourite behind Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Bryson DeChambeau.

Tyrrell Hatton picked up a victory here last year

And SunSport’s golf correspondent David Facey brings you his tips for the event.

Tips for Arnold Palmer Invitational

Hot tip: Sungjae Im, 22-1

A bit surprised Im has not followed up his share of second at the Masters with another win – but after finishing third here in each of the last two years, this could be the ideal opportunity for the PGA Tour’s 2019 Rookie of the Year to put that right.

Im has become one of the most consistent performers around, and with the top five in the world rankings taking the week off – and tournament favourite Rory McIlroy a bit short at 8-1 – the Korean star represents real value.

Medium price – Marc Leishman, 45-1

The Aussie ace is a bit hit and miss these days, but it is hard to argue with his record at Bay Hill, which includes a win in 2017 and a runner-up finish last year, chasing home Tyrrell Hatton in really tough conditions.

Leishman also has a third place finish here back in 2011, and even though he failed to break 70 in any of his four rounds at the Workday Championship last week, the horses for courses theory suggests a big improvement.

Marc Leishman and Justin Rose are two of Facey’s picks this week

Long(ish) shot  – Justin Rose, 55-1

Another player whose eye-catching record at Bay Hill seems to have been under-estimated – you can forgive last year’s missed cut as he was playing rubbish after switching clubs, and the strong winds meant it was no time to be experimenting.

He has finished in the top three here on three occasions, and also has a couple more top tens from eight starts.

The former world No 1 showed he was not far from his best when he finished runner up to Dustin Johnson at the Saudi Invitational.
