Golf Season 2020/21 has been extraordinary to say the least!
The dramatic increase in popularity for golf, set against the backdrop of a global pandemic is a situation no one could have predicted.
As a service we have had to continuously adapt and change our operations to meet Scottish Government guidance, and keep all of our customers and staff COVID-19 secure whilst trying to meet the significant upsurge in demand for access to the courses.
Technological innovation in golf is allowing us to enter, play and record competitions without the requirement of manual scorecard entry. Through Scottish Golf’s new WHS, we can manage our own handicap and include general play scores out-with official competitions. Online booking of tee times is allowing access to many more courses and influencing the cost of playing, allowing golfers ownership of their playing requirements to suit their individual needs.
