RESULTS: 2020 Southwestern Conference Tournament Boys High School Golf
The Amherst Boys Golf Team won the 2020 Southwestern Conference Tournament today on the Legacy Course at Sweetbriar in school record-setting fashion, shooting a score of 301 led by Ryan Yoder with 73.
The Avon Eagles tied Amherst at 301, so each team went to their fifth player’s score for the tie-breaker. Amherst’s Austin Bray shot 79 to best the Avon 5th score to give the Comets the 2020 SWC Tournament.
Ben Lampe of North Ridgeville earned medalist honors with a 72.
With their second place finish, Avon secured the 2020 Southwestern Conference Boys Golf Championship, their second straight title. Avon compiled 44 points over the season, finishing first at the SWC Preview, undefeated (8-0) during the SWC regular season, and the tie-breaker second place finish at the SWC Tournament.
