However, I explain why I asked the question. In another problem seen on a site (I don't remember which one), the following case was submitted. A player sends his ball into a PA. He declares his ball unplayable (which we know he cannot do!) and drops in the PA and plays out of the PA. The answer given was 2 strokes for playing from a wrong place + 1 str pty for R 17.
Now I trying to understand why in the original case I submitted there is no pty for R 17 and there is one in above example?
