[Golf] MCU Competes in NCAA Division II Tournament

Marymount California finished 12th among the 12 teams competing in the CSUSB Coyote Classic, held at the Canyon Crest Country Club in Vista, Calif.  In their first-round at the Canyon Crest Country Club, it was not the start they had hoped for. Owen Murray led the Mariners with an opening-round score of 78 to place him in the middle of the field of 71 golfers, but the Mariners dug themselves in an early hole as they fell 14 strokes behind 11th place and 45 strokes behind 1st place.  MCU found its rhythm on its second tour of the par 71 6,386-yard course.  Caleb Greiner shot a team-low 71 while half of the Mariners dropped their scores, which enabled them to drop 12 strokes off their first-round total.
