A Brief Introduction of the Golf Majors

New to golf? Welcome to the game! The Majors describe four of the biggest golf tournaments played worldwide throughout the year. This is usually the tournament where the best players are put against one another to decide who is the top player of the year.

When you think of the golf majors, players like Tiger Woods are the ones that stand out. The players that are famous even far outside the pro golfing world.

Last Year’s Champion

Tiger Woods has been in the news for a lot of things, but most importantly, his golf game. He is currently ranked second in worldwide professional golf rankings overall, and he’s quite possibly one of the most famous golfers of all time: He’s put his name on more products than could be listed in one article, and he’s been a successful spokesperson, investor and product creator, too – all thanks to how damn good he is at golf.

It’s not surprising that Woods was the player to walk away with the title of champion for last year’s 2019 Golf Majors.

He’s as good of a player as ever, with only the possibility of even more experience being added to his game.

We’re Betting on the Old Favorites

It turns out that Tiger Woods isn’t the only favorite classic golfer who will be competing in the Golf Majors this year. There are many competitors that other people who don’t even play golf might recognize – including the South African golf professional Gary Player.

A lot of people watching the Majors for 2020 are likely going to gravitate towards putting their money on the old favorites: The players we already know are good at golf – and the players that have reliably managed to win the Golf Majors in the past.

What About the Newer Players?

Other than the older favorite players that most viewers will already be familiar with, there are a few newcomers to the Majors this year.

If you feel confident enough that one of the newer (and subsequently younger) players might have what it takes to steal the Majors title from much older and more experienced competitors, that’s up to you.

We’re betting that it’s probably an unlikely event, unless the older favorite players decide to retire from the game entirely.
