Greenburn Golf Club have a vacancy for a Greenkeeper.

The successful candidate must be highly motivated and able to work individually as well as in a team.

REPORTS TO: The Head Greenkeeper

JOB TITLE: Greenkeeper

JOB PURPOSE:
To carry out routine golf course maintenance tasks as directed by the Head Greenkeeper

GREENBURN GOLF CLUB: Greenburn Golf Club is located in Central Scotland along the Breichwater Valley in the village of Fauldhouse West Lothian. Established in 1953 the 18 hole mix of parkland and moorland offers a tricky and testing challenge to both the casual and more experienced golfer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways rough and semi rough
• set up the golf course, including changing holes, emptying litter bins, moving tee markers, indicating OOB drop zones and hazards
• rake bunkers and remove any debris found in the hazard
• flymo and strim ditch switch and brush greens areas and bunkers as well as any area identified by your Line Manager
• switch and brush greens
• apply top dressing and fertilizer
• identify and control pests and diseases
• renovate worn and damaged turf
• prepare and maintain machinery/equipment
• any other tasks deemed reasonable by your Line Manager

TERM Full Time

HOURS 40 hours per week (weekend work required on a rota basis)
Annualised hours in operation i.e. less than 40 hours per week in
winter and more than 40 hours per week in summer

HOLIDAYS 32 days leave (inclusive of public holidays)

REMUNERATION Bigga Membership, Protective Clothing provided, Golf Membership
Salary to be discussed at interview

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• NVQ Level 2 Certificate
• Full Driving Licence

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Certificated to operate chainsaws
• PA1, 2 & 6 spraying certificates
• First Aid at Work Certificate
