[Golf] Randell Takes First Place at SAU Fall Invite
LAURINBURG, N.C. – The St. Andrews men's and women's golf teams hosted the St. Andrews Fall Invitational Oct. 5-7th at Scotch Meadows with the men's team finishing third while Lydia Randell takes first place.
Round 1
Caleb Hensley and Andreas Pirc each had strong outings to begin the tournament, each tabbing 75, 3-over par. Yusuke Niwa finished the round at 77, while Ty Queen scored 82 followed by Matthew Song's 86.
Lydia Randell was at the top of the leaderboard going into round 2, as she shot 5-over at 78 with her closest competitor within 4 shots of 78. St. Andrews had Michaelah Wise sitting in 12th place with 91, while Ashelyn Nicoulin was 19th with 119 going into round 2.
Round 2
The Knight's men's golf team wrapped up their tournament play finishing 3rd out of 5 teams, led by Andreas Pirc's 150 total. Following closely behind Pirc was Yusuke Niwa, improving his second round to 75.
After a strong day of play for Randell on round 1, she then finished the tournament with 13-over par with a final score of 159, enough to take home first place.
Improving her strokes in round 2 was Michaelah Wise, who shot an 87 to finish at 10th place.

Both teams for the Knights will wrap up their fall play at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Championship October 19th-22nd.
