[Men's Golf] Brown Shoots Second-Day Low at East Tennessee Collegiate
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Sophomore and Colstrip, Mont. Native Peter Brown (SO/Colstrip, Mont.) shot a 2-under par (70) on the final round of the Eastern Tennessee Collegiate held at the Johnson City Country Club (par 72, 6,400-yard) on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 for a two-day total of 148 to finish 11th-place individually. Bryan College men's golf junior Kevin Knudsen (SR/Sugar Hill, Ga.) trailed Brown by one stroke after registering rounds of 75 and 74 for a 149, tying for 16th on the individual leaderboard. The top-20 performances dished out by Brown and Knudsen helped the Lions move up one spot on day two, improving to 298 after their first-round total of 310. Bryan's team score of 608 was five spots behind team champion Faulkner University (Ala.) who completed a remarkable 577 to finish at one-over par for the tournament, which was four strokes ahead of 2nd-place University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). Brown's 70 on round number two tied for the lowest score of the day and played a major part in the team's 12-stroke improvement.
