[Women's Golf] Women's Golf Places Fifth at Conference Preview
The Brescia women's golf team finished fifth at the River States Conference Preview held at Belterra Golf Club in Florence, Indiana.
The Lady Bearcats were led by Brooklyn Spicer (SO, Goodletsville, Tenn.), who scored of 85/83, finishing 13th overall.
Meredith Mayes (SO, Central City, Ky.) bounced back after a tough first round of 94 to finish with a 83 in round two. Allie Holeman (SR, Bowling Green, Ky.) scored 87/95, edging by Laurel Hotchkiss (FR, Fishers, Ind.), who had scores of 93/94. Makenzie Moore (JR, Hartford, Ky.) rounded out the team score a with 91/97.
"We are roughly 30 shots better than back in the spring here. That is a significant jump in scores and there's a lot to be proud of," said Head Coach Jason Cox.
"With the team we have, we know we can improve on this to get us into the top three teams in the River States Conference. We are not too far away. With a bit more practice and a better mental game, we will get our team to the next level for sure," added Cox.
The Lady Bearcats will be back in action on October 25 and 26 in the Huntington University Men's/Women's Invitational at Sultans Run Golf Club.
