[Men's Golf] Spurgetis takes seventh at CCAC Cup
Eric Spurgetis opened with a 2-over 72 Monday before closing with a second-day 74 to finish in a tie for seventh place at the CCAC Cup, played at Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood, Ill.
His 146 was just three back of the individual medalist, Blake Vise of Holy Cross (Ind.).
Playing as an individual, McGwire Eden shot a 151 (75-76) to end in 22nd place.
Thomas Resnick was among Monday's leaders with a first-round 73 before slipping into a tie for 23rd after a 79 Tuesday.
Jake Sevcik (78-77) and Jared Tigges (77-78) tied for 29th with matching 155s. Ben Hanser shot a 159.
St. Ambrose finished in the middle of the pack at the 10-team tournament. The Bees were tied for third after a 299, but a second-round 308 dropped them into a tie for fifth place with a 607. Olivet Nazarene won the team title with a 581 (292-289).
SAU will next compete at the True North Shootout at the Amana Colonies Golf Club in Amana, Iowa, before closing the fall portion of the schedule by hosting the NAIA Midwest Invitational at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., Oct. 14-15.
