[Men's Golf] Men's Golf Currently 2nd at GPAC Championships
Doane Men's Golf played the fall portion of the GPAC Championships on Friday and Saturday in Elkhorn, Neb., at Indian Creek GC. The Tigers walked away sitting in 2nd place after two rounds of play. The final two rounds of the championship will be played in the spring.
Doane posted scores of 307 and 315 and sit 34 strokes behind Morningside in the team race. The Tigers have a three stroke lead over Midland and lead Jamestown by six strokes.
Roger Sack (SR/Lincoln, Neb.) paced the Tigers through two rounds with scores of 75-78 to sit in a tie for 5th with a score of 153. He is 11 strokes behind the leader, Jonny Douglas of Morningside. Blake Andersen (FR/Grand Junction, Colo.) is tied for 11th with a 156 (78-78).
Micah Ramirez (SO/Loveland, Colo.) is tied for 16th with a 159 (77-82). Conor Schubring (SO/St. Louis Park, Minn.) is currently tied for 22nd with a 162 (77-85) and JR Kanemura (SR/Lodi, Calif.) is tied for 26th with a 163 (86-77).
The course played as a Par 72 on both days. Next up for the Tigers is the Nebraska Intercollegiate in Norfolk, Neb., on October 11-12 to wrap up the fall slate of meets.
