Greenkeeping Update 27/8/2019

After having had the last week off, it’s great to see things ticking over nicely in my absence. The guys really are developing into a highly capable team and it is well reflected in the quality of the course.
Nothing of great note will be happening on the course this week and it will really just be routine maintenance. Small tasks like seeding little patches on the greens, trimming round sprinkler heads and some little improvements off the course as well with staff training and some workshop organisation.
We are also expecting the arrival of a new piece of machinery which is quite exciting.Having had quite a bit of trouble with our old utility vehicle, we finally found a buyer for it which gave us enough funds to put down a deposit on a new 1. The new machine is a 6 wheel John Deere Gator and will give us the flexibility we’ve been missing in recent months to travel safely around the course, transport materials, tools etc.It is the 1st piece of John Deere equipment that we have ever had, but after much research is the most suitable machine for our requirements.
