James Wins the Billy Blacker Memorial

It was the Billy Blacker Memorial competition at Silverwood Golf Club on Saturday, and there were some great scores returned by the members, the winner with 42 pts was James Scullion, he had a front nine of 20 pts with four pars at the 1^st 2^nd 5^th and 8^th holes, four single bogeys at the 3^rd 6^th 7^th and 9^th holes, and one no-score at the 4^th hole, and a back nine of 22 pts with one birdie at the 14^th hole, four pars at the 11^th 12^th 13^th and 17^th holes, two single bogeys at the 10^th and 18^th holes, and two double bogeys, to win by one shot.

In 2^nd place was Shane O Neill with 41 pts, he had a front nine of 22 pts with three birdies at the 1^st 3^rd and 8^th holes, four pars at the 2^nd 5^th 7^th and 9^th holes, and two single bogeys, and a back nine of 19 pts with one double bogey at the 16^th hole one single bogey at the 17^th  hole, and another seven pars.

3^rd place went to Stephen Morgan with 39 pts, he had a front nine of 19 pts with one birdie at the 7^th hole two single bogeys at the 2^nd and 3^rd hole, and six pars, to go with a back nine of 20 pts with three birdies at the 13^th 15^th and 17^th holes, four pars at the 11^th 12^th 14^th and 16^th holes, one bogey at the 10^th hole and a costly double bogey at the 18^th hole.

The gross prize was collected by Fintan Mc Areavey with 33 gross points, he had a level par front nine with one birdie at the 4^th hole, one bogey at the 6^th hole, and seven pars, and a back nine that included one birdie at the 18^th hole, one no-score at the 15^th hole, two single bogeys at the 11^th and 12^th holes, and five pars.

4^th place went to Brian Brady with 39 pts, he had a front nine of 19 pts with two birdies at the 4^th and 8^th holes, one par at the 3^rd hole, one double bogey at the 5^th hole, and five single bogeys, and a back nine of 20 pts, with five pars at the 11^th 12^th 13^th 15^th and 18^th holes, and four single bogeys.

5^th place went to Sean Polin with 39 pts, he had a front nine of 23 pts and a back nine of 16 pts.

The Senior Prize was won by Seamus Patton with 38 pts
