[Women's Golf] Brescia Golf Adds Four Freshmen for 2019-20 Season

Brescia Head Golf Coach Jason Cox added four incoming freshmen to the men and women's golf programs for the 2019-20 season.

The men's golf team -- the reigning River States Conference champions -- will benefit from the addition of Tyler Sharp from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. "Tyler has the ability to come in and help us out in his freshman year," said Cox -- adding that he actually competed against Tyler's father in college.

The women's golf team added three freshmen (Laurel Hotchkiss, Lindsey Whitfill, and Paige Pollock) to the program.

"Competition for the top five this year on the ladies side will be extremely close in my opinion. The girls will have to work hard to separate themselves from the pack to make the top five this year. That hard work should make us better as a team and propel us up a few leaderboards this year too," said Cox.

Cox said that Hotchkiss (who is from Fishers, Ind.) "has the ability to come in as a freshman and help in a similar way that Brooklyn Spicer (Goodletsville, Tenn.) and Meredith Mayes (Central City, Ky.) did last year."

Cox also noted that Whitfill and Pollock, both from Hardinsburg, Kentucky, "will be a big help to the team."
