WELLOW GOLF CLUB – CAPTAINS DAY 2019

Firstly, to Scott and his team for making sure we had everything we needed and a continuous supply of burgers & sausages.

My wife Karen and Joe Griffiths for serving the food and making sure everyone was well watered and fed throughout the day.

Lee and all the ground staff who were out at the crack of dawn setting up the course so that it was in tip top condition for the day’s competition. It looked and played fantastic.

Danny for organising the cards at the start and Sue and Ian Weeks for the unenviable task of ensuring all the scores were correct and finalising the list of winners at the end. No mean feat with so many members taking part.

Di Sutton for the lovely table flowers and Kev Foot for the welcome banner.

Congratulations go to Kevin Hebenton for winning the men’s trophy with an impressive 43pts, George Ludlum, the Junior’s section with 41pts and Rosemary Yeats with 32pts from the ladies’ section and well done to all the other prize winners.

And finally, thanks to you all for your kind contributions throughout the day, especially those that deliberately missed the green on the first tee and paid the ‘fine’ with all the money raised going towards this year’s Captains’ Charity. The final amount collected will be posted in the Clubhouse.
