Kevin Wins June Monthly Medal

It was the June Monthly at Silverwood Golf Club on Saturday and the weather was atrocious with heavy rain nearly all day and the proof of this was, only one player in the club finished under his handicap, and it was credit to the green staff that the course held up so well and was in great condition.

The winner with a nett 71 was Kevin Munster, he had a front nine score of 35 with one birdie at the 4^th hole, one bogey at the 3^rd hole and seven pars, his back nine of 40 had six pars at the 10^th 11^th 12^th 14^th 15^th and 16^th holes, and three single bogeys to win by one shot.

In 2^nd place was Seamus Patton with a nett 72, Seamus had a front nine of 38 with one birdie at the 8^th hole, four pars at the 3^rd 4^th 6^th and 9^th holes, and four single bogeys, and a back nine of 45 with another birdie at the 13^th hole one par at the 14^th hole, two double bogeys at the 11^th and 16^th holes, and five single bogeys.

In 3^rd place was Gareth Murphy with a nett 74 he had a front nine of 43 with five pars at the 3^rd 7^th 8^th and 9^th holes, one quad bogey at the 5^th hole, and four single bogeys, his back nine of 47 contained two pars at the 14^th and 18^th holes, four single bogeys at the 10^th 13^th 15^th  and 17^th holes, and three doubles bogeys.

The gross prize was won by Michael Molloy with a gross 77, he had a front nine score of 37 with two bogeys at the 1^st and 3^rd holes, and seven pars, and a back nine of 40 with six pars at the 10^th 11^th 12^th 13^th 16^th and 18^th holes, and three singles bogeys.

In 4^th place was Gavin Mc Cabrey with a nett 74, he had a front nine of 40 with four pars at the 1^st 2^nd 8^th and 9^th holes, and five single bogeys, and a back nine of 45 with one par at the 17^th hole and eight single bogeys.

5^th place went to David Carville with a nett 74, he had a front nine of 41 and a back nine of 46.

The senior prize was by James (jaz) Nelson with a nett 75
