Is the penalty area actually in the area designated as OOB? Such that the ball does not return to the inbound part of the course.gumbee72 wrote:My club has recently implemented an inbound out of bounds but I am confused about how to apply rules.
If someone hits a ball over the OOB and it lands in a water hazard (penalty area) are you entitled to a drop? Ball is within the course bounds, and as per the rules you should be entitled to relief via a penalty stroke.
The problem is that there is nowhere to drop as the point you crossed I into the water is OOB.
Is this simply OOB because you can’t drop or should there be a drop area?

Or does it involve the ball flying over the OOB margin returning to the inbound part of the course where the penalty area id located?
