Golf Tip from our PGA Head Coach, Gary Milne
The Sloping Lie
One of the trickiest shots in golf is the sloping lie, whether it be an uphill lie (like the one in the picture) or a downhill lie. In both instances you must always keep your spine perpendicular to the slope. This has the effect of eliminating the slope and allows you to make a better contact on the ball.
On an uphill lie this will increase the ball flight and therefore you should consider using a less lofted club to make the distance required. On a downhill lie the set up will reduce the loft of the club therefore you should consider changing down to a more lofted club or even two to achieve the best result.
Try this when you practice next.
