New Season at Silverwood

It was the start of a new season at Silverwood Golf Club on Saturday and the winner of the 1^st competition of the year was Matt Gilpin with an excellent score of 44pts, Matt had a front nine of 21 pts with five pars at the 1^st 3^rd 4^th 7^th and 8^th holes, one double bogey at the 6^th hole, and three single bogeys, and a back nine of 23 pts that contained six pars at the 12^th 13^th 14^th 15^th 17^th and 18^th holes, and three single bogeys, to win by three points.

In 2^nd place with 41 pts was Shane O Neill, he had 20 pts on his front nine with one birdie at the 9^th hole, three single bogeys at the 1^st 3^rd and 7^th holes, and five pars, his back nine of 21 pts again contained one birdie at the 14^th hole, two bogeys at the 15^th and 16^th holes and six pars.

3^rd place went to Daryl Patton with another 41 pts, he had a front nine of 22 pts, with three single bogeys at the 1^st 5^th and 7^th holes, and six pars, and a back nine of 19 pts that had two doubles bogeys at the 15^th and 16^th holes, one single bogey at the 14^th hole, and six pars.

The gross prize went to Ethan Headley with a one under par 71, he had two birdies at the 1^st and 2^nd holes, one single bogey at the 3^rd hole and a run of 15 straight pars for a solid round of golf.

4^th place went to Dessie Skelton with 40 pts, he had a front nine of 18 pts and a back nine of 22 pts, with the highlights being three birdies at the 4^th 8^th and 12^th hole.

5^th place went to Niall Morrow with 39 pts, he had a front nine of 19 pts and a back nine of 20 pts.

The senior prize was won by Gerard Mc Carthy with 37 pts
