Get a Ruling •
I'd be happy to take up the counterargument challenge if i hadn't realised that I've misread the question. It's nothing to do with the separation of during the hole and after the hole is completed - the question is about during the hole. It's all do do with faulty reading on my part: choice B states before the player makes his next stroke and I carelessly took it to refer to the opponent's next stroke. The player does not have to give his score till it his opponent's turn to play and has until then to correct any wrong information he has given.
That's how I make mistakes in quiz questions. Not by not knowing the rules, but by not picking up on key words. Careless reading which, by an English specialist is especially embarrassing, Fortunately it's easier on the course.
Is there any way of saving face by deleting a thread?
