[Golf] GOLF: ERAU Women and Men Finish High at OUAZ Invite
Embry-Riddle women's golf team fired a 306 in the second round of the OUAZ Spring Invite, which gave them enough separation to cruise to a second-place finish in Goodyear, Ariz. Inn the opening round the Eagles, ranked No. 11 in the national poll, shot the second-lowest round score in the tournament and gave themselves a cushion heading into the final round. Jessica Williams led the Eagles with scores of 72-76 in her final two rounds. Williams, the fourth best player in the NAIA according to Golfstat, shot the lowest round of the tournament with her 72 and was only three shots off the leader when she finished the 54th hole. Nicole Lopes, coming off an injury that kept her out of the entire fall schedule, returned to finish 8th in the tournament, carding sub-80 in all three rounds and tied Williams for the third-most birdies on the course (six). Elle Carlson shot a 236, which was good enough for a top ten and finished as the tournament's second-best golfer on par threes.
