[Cross Country] Cross Country Takes on GPAC in Championship Meet

Doane Cross Country competed at the 2018 GPAC Championships on Saturday morning in North Bend, Nebraska. The Tiger men placed 3rd with the women taking 9th at this year's meet ran on the North Bend Golf Course.

Evan Wick (SO/Blair, Neb.) paced the Tigers with an 8th place finish as he ran a time of 26:30. His finish likely qualifies him for the NAIA National Championships in two weeks based on past qualifying requirements. Official bids will be awarded early next week.

Alec Wick (SO/Blair, Neb.) placed 17th for the Tigers with a time of 26:53. Samuel Saldivar (SO/Tecumseh, Neb.) was the third Tiger to cross the finish line as he came in 22nd with a time of 27:12. Corbin Hubbell (JR/Lincoln, Neb.) placed 26th in a time of 27:31. Nate Harmon (FR/Gretna, Neb.) rounded out the five team scorers with a time of 27:50 to place 34th.

Dordt was the men's champion with a score of 37 points. Northwestern took second with 78 points and the Tigers finished with 105 points.

For the women, Madison Lambley (SO/Benkelman, Neb.) led the way with a 34th place finish and time of 20:20. Emma Frerichs (SR/Omaha, Neb.) ran a time of 20:48 to place 45th.

Isabelle Watson (SO/Columbus, Neb.) crossed in 21:03 to place 54th with Jacinda Davis (SO/Plattsmouth, Neb.) taking 64th with a time of 21:31. Madison Sladky (FR/Cedar Creek, Neb.) was 66th with a time of 21:44.

Dordt claimed the women's title as well with a score of 45 points. Hastings was second with 68 points and Northwestern third with 69 points. Doane finished with 238 points.
