[Men's Golf] SAU takes 10th at own NAIA Midwest Invitational

In the team's final event of the fall, St. Ambrose battled the cold to finish in 10th place at its own NAIA Midwest Invitational played at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill., Monday and Tuesday.

McGwire Eden led the Bees with a top-20 finish. Eden opened with a 78 before firing a second-day 87 for a 165 total. Jake Sevcik also carded a 78, that coming Tuesday, to pair with his opening-round 88 for a 166.

Andrew Tichler shot rounds of 82 and 85 for a 167 and Ben Hanser rebounded from a 91 Monday to close with an 82 for a 173. Thomas Resnick shot an 87 Tuesday.

SAU shot a 671 as a team (339-332) to take 10th in the 15-team tournament featuring some of the top teams from the midwest.

A second St. Ambrose team finished 13th. Adam Hutson had the best round by a Bee, firing a 75 before slipping to a 168 total. Cooper Kilberg used a second-round 82 to finish with a 171. Jordan Rowe shot a 173, Marty Schwebke had a 183 and Colin Pranger finished with a 191 for the SAU team that ended with a 694 (343-351).

Jared Tigges led a third Bee team with his 178. Aren Boxleitner (184), Ethan Neumer (187), Colin Evers (188) and Kyle Jensen (209) also competed for St. Ambrose.
