NBC golf analyst Johnny Miller retiring after being ‘on the road for 50 years’
Johnny Miller
The NBC golf analyst is retiring after three decades. Miller said Monday he will make his last call from the Phoenix Open the first weekend in February, ending a career for NBC Sports that made him as famous as his play that carried him to 25 PGA Tour victories and a place in the Hall of Fame. The graduate of San Francisco’s Lincoln High said he wants to spend more time with his family. “I’ve been on the road for 50 years,” said Miller, 71. A source told the Associated Press that Paul Azinger will replace Miller at NBC and still work the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open for Fox Sports.
