FRIENDSHIP, Ohio - Freshman Levi Chapman fired a 7-over par round of 79 to pace the University of Rio Grande men's golf team in Saturday's opening round of the Shawnee State Fall Invitational at the Shawnee State Park Golf Resort.
The RedStorm carded a team total of 34-over par 322 and trails tourney leader Georgetown College by 31 shots. Host Shawnee State is in second place at 14-over 302 and Indiana University East is third at 306.
Chapman, a native of Pomeroy, Ohio, is tied for 25th place individually. Miami University-Hamilton's James Leisinger carded a 4-under par 68 to grab a one shot lead over Shawnee State's Jordan Hughes.
