[Women's Golf] Williams Leads Lions to 7th-Place Finish at AAC Fall Championship
ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – Sophomore Taylor Williams (SO/Lincolnton, N.C.) once again led the Bryan College women's golf team, and did so at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Championship played at the 5,838-yard Elizabethton Golf Course during the two-day event, Oct. 8-9. During most of the fall season, the Lions have been without reigning AAC Player of the Year, Krista Reinhardt (SR/Tampa, Fla.), but stepping up in a big way has been Williams who entered the Fall Championship coming off a first-place finish at Tennessee Wesleyan's Fall Invitational Sept. 18. In her first tournament back, Reinhardt had matched Williams with a first-round score of 81, putting both in 17th for a team-best. While Reinhardt grew her final round by two strokes for an 83 placing 20th, Williams continued to dominate the course and pieced together an 80 on day two for 11th overall in a field of 62 talented AAC golfers. Williams' 161 two-day total helped Bryan lock in a 7th-place finish, tying Reinhardt University (Ga.) with a 686 team total.
