[Men's Golf] St. Ambrose finishes third at Clarke Fall Invite
Andrew Tichler and McGwire Eden tied for fifth overall to help St. Ambrose finish third at the Clarke Fall Invite Friday.
The two Bees shot matching 4-over-par 76s to tie for fifth in the 74-player event held at the Eagle Ridge Resort South Course in Galena, Ill.
Jake Sevcik ended in 17th place with his 79. Ben Hanser shot an 83 and Thomas Resnick fired an 86 for St. Ambrose.
They helped to SAU to third place with a 314. Viterbo, led by individual medalist Matt Zimmerman's 2-over 74, won the 13-team tournament with a 306. Loras totaled a 311 to grab second place.
A total of four St. Ambrose teams competed Friday.
Adam Hutson earned a top-10 finish with his 77 placing him eighth overall. He helped the second Bee team to seventh place. Colin Pranger shot an 80, Cooper Kilberg and Marty Schwebke each fired 83s and Jordan Rowe finished with an 88.
Jared Tigges led a third SAU team to 10th place with his 79. Aren Boxleitner (84), Kyle Jensen (84), Ethan Neumer (86) and Reese Garnjobst also played for the third team.
Colin Evers (79), Michael Showers (92), Matt McEwen (99) and Ben Meils (104) made up the fourth SAU team.
The Bees will host their annual NAIA Midwest Invitational on Oct. 15-16 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. It is the team's lone home event of the year.
