McPherson, Kan. – The Friends University Women's Golf Falcons recorded a fifth place finish at the Central Christian Classic that wrapped up last week (Sept. 11) at the Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson, Kan.

Fueling the finish was Taylor Sandoval (JR/Eagle, Colo.), who recorded a career-best score of 80-81-161 to come in at sixth overall.

Sandoval's performance helped the Falcons tally a team score of 358-359-717, their best output in the program's two years of team play.

"I really feel the team is starting to put it together earlier this year," Friends head coach Paul Howe said. "Taylor is striking the ball better than I have ever seen her."

Deane Reaves (FR) was the next highest finishing Falcon, coming in tied for 17th overall at 91-91-182.

Maddy Hart (SO/El Dorado, Kan.) finished 24th (96-90-186) and Paige Savage (SO/Arlington, Texas) 25th (91-97-188), with Kaela Ruggles (FR) winding up 34th overall (102-97-199).

Coming out on top in the tourney was Southwestern Christian University with a score of 319-323-642.

The Falcons will next host their own invitational starting on Oct. 1 at the Derby Golf & Country Club in Derby, Kan.
