EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team finished fourth of 12 teams at the University of Southern Indiana (USI) hosted 23rd Annual Screaming Eagles Classic.
TROJAN INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Rachael McMahan (77-73=150) finished sixth with teammate Lexie Shaw (78-73=151) finishing one stroke back in seventh. Both juniors made the all-tournament team. Brynn Craven (85-79=164) placed 30th while Sophie Vinson (85-82=167) finished 35th. Valeria Vargas turned in an 88-86=174 to round out the team counting scores. Madalyn Hembree (84-76=160) and Teagan Perry (81-81=162) finished 20th and 23rd respectively playing as individuals.
RECORDS AND CAREER BESTS
The 307 team score on Monday is a school record for an 18-hole round. It breaks the record of 309 posted by the 2013-2014 team at the Coosa Invitational.
The 632 team score is the third-best total over 36-holes. The 2016-2017 team shot a 622 at the Phoenix Invitational.
The 73 posted by Rachael McMahan and Lexie Shaw on Monday ties them for the 11th best score in program history for 18-holes. The 73 is a career low for Lexie Shaw
The 36-hole total of 150 for Rachael McMahan is the 8th best round in program history. It is the second lowest career 36-hole performance for McMahan, she posted a 149 as a freshman at the Great Midwest Championships. The junior owns two other 150's over a 36-hole performance in her career as well. One as a freshman and again last year as a sophomore.
The 151 for Lexie Shaw is her career best and the 13th best two-round total in program history.
Brynn Craven just missed tying her career-best with Monday's 79, she shot a 78 as a sophomore at the same event. Craven's 164 total for 36-holes is the best of her career as well.
Monday's 76 is a career low for Madalyn Hembree. Her previous low is a 77 shot last year as a freshman. Her 160 is not her best 36-hole best. She did that one year before at the same tournament, shooting a 157 at the Screaming Eagles Classis last year.
The 81 shot by Teagan Perry in both rounds sets a new career low for her. The 162 36-hole total is a career best.
Sophie Vinson's 82 is also a career best for an 18-hole round. Her 36-hole 167 total is her career best as well.

Trevecca's 325-307=632, moving them up in the final standings andjust10back of third place McKendree University.
TOURNAMENT FIELD REPORT
Madison Hill (68-71=139) of Lewis University won the event with her five-under-par total. Lewis (304-308=612) won by four strokes over Southern Indiana (321-295=616).

EVENT DETAILS
The 23rd Annual Screaming Eagles Classic returns to the Cambridge Golf Course for the 13th consecutive year. The two-day event consists of 36-hole is playing to a par of 72 over 5862 yards. There are 74 golfers competing.
There are 12-teams in the field: Nine GLVC (Great Lakes Valley) teams – Southern Indiana, Bellarmine University, Lewis University, Maryville University, McKendree University, Missouri S&T, Quincy University, Rockhurst University, and William Jewell College and two Great Midwest members Kentucky Wesleyan College and Trevecca. John A. Logan CC is also playing.
COACH HEAD SAID
"We played to our potential today across the board. There is always room for growth and there is always a feeling you left a stroke or two on the course, but this was more like we expected for our first event of the year. We can't wait to get home and head to the Great Midwest Fall Invite."
WHAT'S NEXT
The Trojans play next in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Fall Tournament at the Otter Creek Golf Club in Columbus, IN September 17-18. The rest of the fall schedule includes the East Region Preview at The Pearl Club in Owensboro, KY on October 13-14. The fall schedule concludes with the Trojans hosting the Music City Invitational at the Old Hickory Country Club on October 22-23.
