[Men's Golf] Two Top-20 Finishers for Men's Golf at U.C. Ferguson Classic

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – The Grand View University men's golf team traveled to Lincoln Park Golf Course to compete in the U.C. Ferguson Classic. The Vikings finished 8th in a field of 14 teams, including the No. 1 team in the country, Oklahoma City.   

The Vikings had both a Top-10 and Top-20 finisher. Parker Davidson (JR/Pleasant Hill, IA), a DMACC transfer and Southeast Polk graduate, finished in a tie for 10th-place. Davidson carded a 141 (72-69), while also leading the field in Par 3 scoring averages. He averaged 2.7 strokes on those holes. Christian Birdsell (SR/Humboldt, IA) shot a 144 (72-72) to complete the tournament tied for 20th. Birdsell and Davidson each complied 8 birdies, which were highs for the Vikings.

The No. 1 team in the country, Oklahoma City, won the event with a 546 (272-274) while having 4 golfers place in the Top-5. Missouri Valley College was the only other Heart of America school to participate in The Ferguson besides Grand View. David Myers of Oklahoma City sat atop the leaderboard at the end of the tournament. Full results can be seen below.
