The Open Championship field takes shape as the 2 top-ranked players in the world miss the cut

  • The cut has officially been made at the 2018 Open Championship, and the two top-ranked golfers in the world — Dustin Johnson and Justin Thomas — both failed to survive to the weekend.
  • Across the course, other competitors have laid chase to the leaders at 6-under, with plenty of big names still in the mix to take home the Claret Jug.

After two rounds at Carnoustie Golf Links, the field at the Open Championship has whittled  down to the players who will get to play through the weekend, and for the first time since 2011, the two top-ranked players in golf will fail to cash a check at golf's oldest major.
