[Women's Golf] ONU finishes 26th overall at NAIA National Championship
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – On Tuesday, May 22, after clinching the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) title 26 days prior, the Olivet Nazarene University women's golf team teed it up for their first round at the 24th Annual NAIA National Championship. The Tigers had a challenging task with a field full of ranked teams and a PGA-level course in front of them. ONU struggled through their first 18 holes as no Tiger was able to score in the 70s. Olivet was in 28th place after round one, but on Wednesday, things went much better. All but one golfer scored better and Mackenzie Mehaffey (JR/Winchester, Ind.) shot a team-best 79 to propel her to a top-80 finish in the championships. The Tigers used their scores to move up two spots to finish 26th overall and nearly place two in the top 100, as Stephanie Eby (JR/Lemont, Ill.) came in 109th.
