[Men's Golf] Jake Sevcik signs to join SAU Men's Golf team
St. Ambrose University Men's Golf Coach Jeff Griebel is excited to announce the signing of one of the top high school golfers from the State of Iowa.
Jacob Sevcik, a 2016 graduate of Cedar Rapids Linn-Mar High School, has signed a letter of intent and will attend St. Ambrose in the fall 2018. Jake just completed his sophomore season at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Sevcik finished in 16th place at the 2015 Iowa High School Boys Class 4A State Championship and was named the 2015 Iowa PGA Junior Tour Player of the Year. He was named to the Mississippi Valley Conference Boys Golf All-Conference Team as a sophomore, junior and senior and was also named to the Cedar Rapids Boys Golf All-Metro Team three times. Sevcik won the Cedar Rapids Junior City Amateur in 2014.
He has played the last two seasons for Kirkwood and will have two years of collegiate eligibility reaming at St. Ambrose.
"Jake Sevcik is a very dedicated and experienced player," Griebel said. "I am confident that he will be an impact player for our golf program during his
final two years at St. Ambrose University."
Sevcik will be joining a St. Ambrose golf team that has qualified for the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship 13 times since 2000.
