[Women's Golf] Mackenzie Mehaffey earns CCAC All-Conference honors
CHICAGO --- Following a second place finish at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Championships, Mackenzie Mehaffey (JR/Winchester, Ind.) was named to the CCAC All-Conference team for the second consecutive season. She represented the Tigers on the five-person team when the league office announced the awards on Friday morning.
Mehaffey's outstanding individual finish helped propel the Tigers to a CCAC postseason title and a trip to the NAIA National Championships. She shot one of only four rounds in the 70s on day one en route to a score of 160 (+20). She recorded six top-10 finishes in the 10 tournaments she competed in during the 2017-18 campaign. Twice later in season, the junior claimed individual medalist honors including and once was runner-up. Mehaffey won the ONU Spring Invite and helped the Tigers to a first place finish, shooting an 81 on day one.
On October 14, 2017, Mackenzie had a career-day on the course. She set the single round program record with a score of 69 (-3), helping propel her to medalist honors at the Swan Lake Intercollegiate. Her second round score was 12 strokes better than in round one, helping her to a one-stroke victory.
Mehaffey shot three of her 20 rounds in the 70s as she averaged a score of 81.5 this season.
