LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team is in eighth at the Findlay Spring Invite at the University Club of Kentucky, Larken Whittemore (JR/Lafayette, TN) shot a three-under 69 is currently tied for first place in the two-day tournament.

TREVECCA TEAM  

Following Larken Whittemore's 69 is Trevor Lay (SR/Kewanee, IL) who shot 73 and is tied for 15th place. Blain Turner (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) turned in a 77 and is tied for 52nd while Payton Williams (SR/Clarksville, TN) and Conner Conkel (FR/Atlanta, GA) shot a 79 and are both tied for 70th place.

Larken Whittemore leads the field with 15 pars during the first round. Larken Whittemore is two under and the par four holes which is second best in the field. Trevor Lay and Larken Whittemore are even par on the par three hole which is sixth best in the field. 

TOURNAMENT FIELD REPORT

Ian Carroll of the University of Indianapolis and Grand Valley State's Alex Scott are both tied for first with Whittemore in first. Craig Stefureak (Drury, 70) and Andrew Hammett (Ferris State, 70) round out the top five.  

TOURNAMENT TEAM LEADERBOARD

The University of Indianapolis (284) has a seven-shot lead on second place Grand Valley State University (291). Trevecca's team score of 298 is good for eighth place.

Trevecca leads the current Great Midwest teams in the field, but one future G-MAC member, Tiffin University, sits four strokes better in fourth place. The tournament host, University of Findlay, is next in 11th at 304. Cedarville University (305) is in 12th, Ohio Dominican University (314) is 17th, Hillsdale College (319) is 20th, Walsh University (326) is 21st, and Alderson Broaddus University and Malone University are tied for 22nd, each recording a 327.  

WHAT'S NEXT

The final round of the Findlay Spring Invite begins tomorrow the University Club of Kentucky. On April 8th Trevecca goes to the Purgatory Invitational hosted by the University of Indianapolis for a three-day tournament. The competition will be held at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.
