[Men's Golf] Trevecca Men's Golf | Trojans third, Turner tied for 8th in SVSU Invitational Opener
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team is third at the SVSU Invitational at the Kearney Hills Golf Course in Lexington, KY. Blain Turner (FR/Mt. Juliet, TN) led the Trojans with a three-under par 69 and is tied for eighth overall.
"I'm really proud of the guys for the way they played," Director of Golf, David Head said. "They are playing with confidence and the expectation to play well."

Following Blain Turner's 69 is Larken Whittemore (JR/Lafayette, TN) (70), Trevor Lay (SR/Kewanee, IL) (72), Payton Williams (SR/Clarksville, TN) (73) and Connor Conkel (74). All of Trevecca's top five are in the top 40 after day one.

Host Saginaw Valley State has Ryan Peruski who is tied for first with Tiffin's Noah Barth, both shot 66.

Saginaw Valley State (277) has a five-shot lead on second place Tiffin University (282). Trevecca is in third place with a 283-team score.
WHAT'S NEXT
The final round of the SVSU Invitational begins tomorrow at Cherry Blossom Golf Course. Trevecca goes to the Phoenix Invitational hosted by Cumberland University on March 26th and 27th. Competition will be held at the Old Hickory Country Club in Old Hickory, Tennessee.
