[Golf] Montreat Golf Excels at Cavs Invite

MORGANTON, N.C. - Montreat head coach John Sullivan was pleased with both of his team's perfomances in the Cavalier Spring Invitational on March 5-6 at the Silver Creek Plantation Golf Course. Inclement weather forced the tournament to end short of its planned 36 holes.

"I thought the tournament went well outside of the weather. The conditions were really tough this week. We have some good momentum as we head into our conference event in a couple of weeks so we are excited to see what we can do the rest of the season," said Sullivan.

The women's team finished second overall and were paced by Savannah Kummelman, who finished third overall. Sara Gwillim was next in for the Cavaliers and finished tied for sixth overall.

On the men's side, the team finished in sixth place, and was led by Seth Perry, who tied for fifth place. Next in was Jacob Shamblin, who tied for 15th and was +14 over 27 holes.
