Patrick Reed had a potential winning putt on the 18th green during Sunday’s final round at the Valspar Championship in Florida. Tied for the tournament lead at 10-under with Paul Casey, Reed was staring at a long putt to take the outright lead. Here’s how that went:

Reed knew early on that his ball didn’t have the juice to get nearly where it needed to go. Reed had to go over a little slice of taller grass on the fringe of the green, which slowed the putt down considerably. It didn’t have the mustard to avoid sliding back a downslope, and Reed wound up exactly where he started. He needed two more putts to get home from there, and his bogey on the 18th knocked him out of the tournament.

Tiger Woods was behind Reed on the 18th fairway, having just sunk a 44-footer on No. 17 to get himself to within a shot of the leaders. Woods wound up making par on the hole, so Reed’s bogey secured a regulation victory for Casey.
