WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – The Trevecca Nazarene University women's golf team started play in the first of its kind tournament, the GLIAC vs. G-MAC Match Play Showdown at the Saddlebrook Resort & Spa.

Trevecca is third of the six teams competing after the first round with a 335. Rachael McMahan is second with a 77, one stroke back of Karissa Guthrie of Northern Michigan University.

FRIDAY – STROKE PLAY - LIVE SCORING

SATURDAY – MATCH PLAY - LIVE SCORING

Trevecca Director of Golf, David Head, said, "The course played difficult today. Golf in Florida is different and requires practice and experience. The grass is different, the wind is different, and there is a ton of water on the course. We handled the difficult weather conditions as well as could be expected and with our lack of experience playing in Florida, the overall result is pretty decent after all scores were calculated for round one."

"We played early and were unsure how good our scores were. The more scores we saw from the rest of the field the more we realized our scores were measuring up more than we maybe thought at first. We look forward to getting back out there Friday and again Saturday."
