Just to clarify for the readers---
Rjm's reply is correct when there is no special condition prohibiting practice before the round as is the correctness of Thom's reply when the condition prohibiting practice is in effect.
However the Committee , even in those cases where Thom's practice condition is in effect, should allow the play of holes --up to the point of resumption of the match --if the circumstances are such that there is heavy play on the course for financial / busy periods or some other sensible reason.( decision 7-2/11)
This is a decision made under equity (1-4) but it would be sensible to obtain permission in advance from the Committtee .
