Tiger Woods’ helped Steve Kerr with back pain

The golf superstar has talked with Steve Kerr about back injuries, and may talk with the team

If you’re a fan of golf, it’s been a big day. Tiger Woods returned to the links and did well, shooting 3-under par on the first day of the Hero World Challenge.

However, whether or not you’re a fan of golf, there’s a Golden State Warriors connection. Woods, like Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr, has suffered from some serious back pain throughout his career. And the two sports figures have talked, with Kerr getting some help from Woods about the issue.

If you can’t see the picture, Kerr said of Woods’ comeback, “I’m so happy for him. Mainly just because he’s out there playing. I think when you go through a back injury, you understand other people who have been through it.”

Kerr touched on his communication with Woods saying, “We’ve talked. Yeah, he was just really nice. He reached out through a mutual friend to offer some encouragement.”

The Dubs’ coach added that he was hoping to get Woods in to talk with the team, and possibly play some golf with Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala, who are golf enthusiasts. That will have to wait until another day, but I’d guess it will eventually happen.
