I agree with RJM that the marker should not be dq'd (that censure of the marker is for when a marker signs knowingly for a wrong score).  However he could probably have done a better job of guiding/informing the Committee of the facts to assist their process.  For example, D6-6a/4 advises that the marker is to attest which scores he can verify.  It would also have assisted the Committee if the marker advised whether the player did not count all his shots or were there situations of failure to apply the penalties under the rules.  Also, could the marker have had another fellow competitor confirm his own count so it wasn't simply two competing views of the player's score for a hole?  While this must have been a very trying process, the marker really needed to have infinite patience to best support the Committee's responsibility to apply the rules and protect the rest of the field.
