Rules of Golf discussions and meanings • Re: Wrong Putting Green - interference to stance
It seems that I may have to concede. I was confident that the Definition of NPR stood on its own merit and so the NPR for a ball being played by a right handed person whose ball lay on the right side of a wrong green would be 2-3 feet away from the wrong putting green, because the player's stance had to be taken into account. My logic is that part of the Definition states, "...where, if the ball were so positioned, no interference by the condition from which relief is sought would exist for the stroke the player would have made from the original position if the condition were not there." The condition is the wrong putting green, the stroke the player would have made includes their intended stance. In other words, it was my opinion that the Definition of NPR trumped Rule 25-3, whereas Chippings and Brian seem to think that the reverse is true. Is there anyone else that supports my view?
